Pottery: Introduction to Wheel-Throwing & Handbuilding Techniques (Liz Kehoe)

$225 for 10 weeks - 20 hours. (Cost includes all materials.) Meets on Wednesdays, 10:00-12:00, from January 14 to March 25.

Students will explore various techniques for the expressive potential of clay, including hand building, pinch, coil, slab, and wheel work.  Students will be challenged to develop skills in manipulating clay, decorating techniques, glaze application, ceramics vocabulary, and awareness of safety issues involved in ceramics.  A brief overview of various time-periods and cultures will be compared and contrasted during this 10-week course in order to inspire individual artistic expression, as well as develop an appreciation of the arts.
